Bishop Blake: What God Wants From You

For many of us, there is the strong feeling that more is required of us by God. Presiding Bishop Blake gave the congregation of West Angeles Church of God In Christ a gentle, yet powerful lesson in understanding God’s desire for our lives in his First Sunday sermon titled, “What God Wants from You,” on August 7, 2016.

“You have the dimension the divine, the moral, and the spiritual impinging on our lives,” said Bishop Blake. “So you’d ask, ‘Is there an eternal spirit within me? If so, how can I live for the benefit of my soul and my spirit? Should I respond to the physical side…or the spiritual side of my being?”

Bishop went on to question, “What does God want from me? How can I please a perfect God? How can I come up to God’s standard, even in light of the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ?”
