Boy Scouts at West Angeles
The West Angeles Boy Scouts is a youth ministry which strives to empower young men to develop strong moral character and to live as Godly men. Strength in the knowledge in God develops our Boy Scouts into strong young men, and guides them in their pursuit of success in every area of life.
This is a youth ministry which cultivates social skills, and includes the knowledge and experience of different cultures to prepare the young men for the diversity of the world. The Boy Scout Troop supplements and reinforces their primary education and skills through tutorial and other specialized programs. We believe all men should have knowledge of various skill sets; therefore, vocational training and techniques are also available.
We reinforce our young men with the armor to resist the influence of a godless society. We teach them to be leaders, and to be the “light” in any environment. Our endeavor is to cultivate the gifts that God has given them and equip them to be disciples of Christ.
The objective of our Troop is to build character, inner strength and self-reliance in the lives of the young men. They experience prayer, camping, hiking, fishing, first aid training, and useful skills with family and community involvement.
The Scout troop’s participating requirements are to:
- Attend two Scout meetings per month; please inform your leader if you plan to be absent.
- Participate in unit activities.
- Keep fees and dues current.
- Maintain clean and complete uniforms.
- Obey all troop basic rules, scouting cadre, Patrol Leaders and supporting personnel.
- Participate in fundraisers.
- Wear class “B” t-shirts to outings.
The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of West Angeles Troop 848 meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 7 P.M. in the West Angeles C.O.G.I.C. Youth Center.
