HEALTHY RECIPE: Amazing Fruit Salad

Genesis 1:29 – And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you, it shall be for food.

Start your day with this delicious fruit salad, which can be adjusted according to taste.  This fruit salad is a great every day because you’ll never get bored if you add in-season fruits to the recipe.   It’s also perfect for fasting,

amazing fruit salad2 pears (preferably Bosc or Red Anjou; seeded and chopped with skin on)

1 mango, chopped

1 cup of fresh pineapple, cut into tidbits

1 cup seedless red grapes, cut in half

5 strawberries, cut into quarters

amazing fruit salad1 handful of blueberries (you can substitute raspberries or blackberries in season, as shown)

3 heaping tablespoons non-dairy vanilla yogurt*

¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut, soaked in hot water to soften

¼ cup of Pomegranate seeds (optional)

Combine pears, pineapple, grapes, and berries in a large bowl. Add yogurt and coconut; mix with fruit. Spoon into serving bowls; top with pomegranate seeds and serve.


  • Did you know there are yogurts on the market made without dairy? Look for yogurt made from almond, soy, or coconut milk.
  • Buy berries and grapes in-season for best flavor and lowest prices and freeze for use later.
  • When in season, substitute peaches or nectarines for the mango.
  • Ripened fruits have the best flavor.
