In Brussels, more than 30 people were killed and hundreds more injured. It was the latest in the rapidly increasing number of terror attacks across the globe in recent months.
It was said by Belgium’s Interior Minister Jan Jambon that there was a threat of revenge attacks after the capture of a suspect in the Paris attack of November 2015.
Two explosions, moments apart, tore through the check-in area of Zaventem International Airport in Brussels, Belgium, at about 8 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Twin blasts struck the main terminal of the airport in the northeast of the city. About an hour later, another blast occurred at the Maelbeek Metro Station in the center of the city, close to several EU institutions. Brussels is also home to the headquarters of the European Union.
The Brussels attack is the latest in a string of at least nine attacks worldwide claimed by the group ISIS this year. Earlier this month, a suicide bomber in Istanbul, Turkey exploded in a commercial shop on a busy tourist destination and business center, targeting civilians.
ISIS has also called on Al-Qaeda fighters to join the Islamic State campaign, in light of their terror attacks across Northern and Central Africa. Gunmen from Al-Qaeda’s North African branch killed at least 16 people after they opened fire near several hotels in the Ivory Coast, also this month. The shooting came amid fears that the jihadi threat is spreading in West Africa. Attacks in recent months on luxury hotels in the capitals of neighboring Mali and Burkina Faso have killed dozens of people, leaving West African countries scrambling to boost security in the face of a growing jihadi threat.
7 SCRIPTURES FOR PEACE
Our world is full of violence, but our God is a God of peace. Please pray for the victims and the families of those harmed in the attacks around the world, and please pray for peace for our world. May the 7 scriptures which follow help to bring peace in these troubled times:

Isaiah 9:6 – 6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
John 14:27 – 27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 16:33 – 33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
1 Corinthians 14:33 – 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
Philippians 4:7 – 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 – 16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
