Today we honor our Veterans. With the victories of our ancestors reversed, and our rights as Americans challenged daily, we follow their example of bravery in defending our faith, and the values we cherish as a nation. Like King David before us, God has blessed each of us with the tools to win the fight. Our bodies, our minds, our skills, the very lives we lead are for restoring His Kingdom on earth (Matthew 6:9-13; Romans 12:1): but are you living fully within His purpose?
If Jesus asked you to follow Him into battle today to fight the good fight, what kind of soldier would you be? Is your armor polished (Ephesians 6:10-17)? Are you using your arsenal of talents to its fullest (Matthew 25:14-30; Hebrews 12:12-13)? If you were Jesus, would you want to be on the battlefield with you? He’s got your back: but do you have His?
We are the generation the world is waiting for (Romans 8:19). Jesus urges us in Revelation 3:2 (NIV) to “2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of My God”. Seek the Word. Pray. Allow God to transform you.Pursueyour vocation. Live righteously. Now is not the time to retreat. Until Christ returns, the war is far from over. Jesus fought for us with His life. It’s time to fight for Him with ours.
