There are so many misconceptions about the terms of salvation. It’s the reason that many people do not come to Jesus. These people feel they are not good enough or holy enough to be Christians. However, Bishop Blake clears up that confusion in his sermon, “Why we should live Holy.” He lets us know that holiness is not the prerequisite to salvation. We should choose to live holy because we have salvation. Your love for Christ should prohibit you from sinning because sin separates us from Christ. Resisting your fleshly desires seems unbearable in the moment, which is why holiness can not be attained in your strength. You need Christ for holiness. It is not who you are that makes you holy, but who God is. And when you learn to overcome sin and embrace holiness you will be in perfect communion with God.
