“YES, YOU’VE GOT GOD’S POWER”: Bishop Blake On How To Live Your Best Life
We’re counting down to the first ever Sisters Conference: “Let There Be Light!” To prepare you to rise up and to shine your light on the world, we’re providing the definitive compilation of sermon quotes from our Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. Live your best life!
The word of God says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” That means that the same Power that transformed the dying body of Jesus Christ into a living, immortal, resurrected body; the same power that brought Him forth from the grave: it is right here, right now.
The power of God can be great in your life. And if He’s in your life, then just like He rose from the dead, you can rise out of any situation that may come against you.
ON THE POWER OF KNOWING JESUS:
“Health, wealth, strength, and prosperity, are not the keys to success; they’re not the keys to survival. Believing [in Jesus] brings joy. Believing brings peace. Believing brings hope. Believing brings strength.”
“When you know Jesus, you know the power that raised Him from the dead. To know Him and the power of His resurrection are to have that same power at work in your life.”
“Look unto God; let God be the only power that you rely upon.”
“‘I have the power to tread on serpents scorpions:’ that places everything under your feet.”
“You don’t have to fear death or be afraid of anything. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
“Worry never helps. Worry never accomplishes anything. Worry incapacitates you…Worry makes life miserable but does not produce anything…God knows what you need, so don’t worry.”
“Stop being afraid! Stop being concerned about your success. God will provide everything that you need and everything that you desire.”
“It’s better to wait on God than to get ahead of God and make a mess!”
“It’s your job to obey. It is your job is to trust. God is all-powerful…and God is in Love with you.”
“To doubt God is to doubt God’s power. To doubt God is to doubt God’s love. To doubt God is to doubt God’s wisdom. To doubt God is to doubt God’s promises.”
“The disciples had trouble catching this. They did not know how to chill. They just didn’t get it!”
“If God can’t do it, it can’t be done.”
“What’s impossible with men is possible with God.”
It is time for us to march into the future in love and in unity – Presiding Bishop Charles Edward Blake
“Don’t be so hungry for human relationships that you will accept any old thing.”
“You’re on the verge of accepting something less than the best. Hold on a little while longer! Keep your standards high!”
“The Bible says that ‘1 can chase 1000’: that means 2 can accomplish 10x as much as 1 can accomplish. My message today is that we release an explosion of potential when we join together in unity.”
“Our society emphasizes individuality and independence, but God is calling on us to move away from individuality and independence and make a commitment to love unity and agreement; to come together as one.”
“Really strong people can afford to be humble; really strong people can afford to be kind.”
“Whatever we are, whatever we are to become, God made us that.”
“Be little in your own eyes.”
“If you bless what God blesses, God will bless you, too.”
“Place obedience to God over your material advantage.”
“Everybody ought to want to be a person after the heart of God. People who are on God’s heart are prospered.”
