Support of Mayoral Candidate Wendy Greuel


Thursday, March 28, 2013 on the main plaza of West Angeles Church of God in Christ Cathedral, African American Leaders or other civil rights icons stand on the steps of the cathedral in support for Los Angeles City Controller and Mayor Candidate Wendy Greuel. Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles Police Commissioner John Mack, Los Angeles Sentinel Publisher Danny Bakewell, SEIU ULTCW President Laphonza Butler, Bishop Kenneth T. Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church, Rev. Cecil “Chip” Murray, Rev. James Lawson, and Advancement Project CEO Connie Rice all cited Greuel’s leadership, experience, and dedication to the people of Los Angeles.

Bishop Blake says “This is a great day for the City of Los Angeles. We are all here to support someone who has spent her entire career investing in the City of Los Angeles. Going back to her work with former President Bill Clinton to improve our schools and her unprecedented support to attract new development. Many community leaders have gathered here today support Wendy gruel. Thank you for being here to support the next mayor.”
