God has given us the power to:

Luke 10:19

19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Resurrection Sunday

, , ,

He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is never told or recalled lightly. The agony, torture, and pain Jesus endured for the love of us all is such an immeasurable sacrifice not easily put into words–but more of an emotion. An emotion of gratitude coupled with sadness is what many a Christian describe the feelings of visualizing our Savior on a cross. And although Jesus laid down his life for us–we take solace in what’s proclaimed throughout all four Gospels–the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:6 reports “‘Don’t be alarmed,’ [the angel] said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.'”

In Luke 24:46-48, the risen Jesus gave His disciples a greater understanding of the resurrection when He told them: “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.”

Jesus foretells of His resurrection in John 16, then to one of the doubting witnesses, Thomas, He says the following in John 20:29: “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Know that the Resurrection is not an afterthought in the story of our salvation; it is the defining moment of our re-creation.
