CSU Summer Algebra Institute

We invite students to enroll in the Summer Algebra Institute. Classes will be July 9th-16th August Monday-Thursday. 9AM-12:15pm. We invite students to participate in the program and experience the following:

• Build skills and confidence in algebraic thinking and number reasoning.
• Discover the importance of mathematics and the connection to career choices.
• Learn games, use math manipulative, computers and calculators to solve problems.
• Develop a positive attitude for mathematics.

All learners will:

• Use variables and inequalities
• Analyze real world data using histograms
• Simplify an expression using order of operations
• Find the absolute value of a number
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide integers
• Solve problems involving negative numbers
• Write variable expressions
• Apply variable expression in problem solving
