2 Chronicles 31:21 – And in every work that he began in the service of the House of God, and in the law, and in the Commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

For his June 28 sermon, entitled, “Give God Something to Remember,” Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr. was inspired by the work of King Hezekiah, who revived the House of God to its former glory in 2 Chronicles 29-31.

“It’s difficult to separate your love for God,” said Bishop, “from your love for the House of God. People of the Lord, there are folk in our nation who want the church to go out of existence. But who would encourage people to love one another? Who would encourage us to live holy before God?”

“The church is the hope of the world; we’re the light of the world! If the church will really be the church, then I don’t care what anybody did, we can turn this nation back toward God!”

Before Bishop’s sermon, the congregation was blessed by inspiring words from West Angeles member Magic Johnson, who surprised Bishop with a monetary gift for the church.
